Atelier Muho is a studio specializing in Kintsugi, the traditional Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with natural lacquer and gold, giving broken objects new life and greater beauty.
Kintsugi, dating back to the 15th century, is more than a repair technique—it's a philosophy. Instead of disguising damage, we celebrate it, highlighting cracks and chips with precious metals. The repaired piece becomes more valuable and unique than before, embodying the Japanese aesthetic of "wabi-sabi," which finds profound beauty in imperfection and impermanence.
Our name, "Muho" (無縫 - seamless), captures the essence of Kintsugi: the perfect harmony achieved when broken fragments and original form merge without discord. The golden seams don't hide the damage; they transform it into the most striking feature, creating seamless beauty from brokenness.

アトリエ無縫は、日本の伝統的な修復技法「金継ぎ」を専門とし、壊れた器に新たな生命を吹き込むアトリエです。
金継ぎとは、割れたり欠けたりした陶磁器を天然の漆で接着し、金や銀で装飾する伝統技法です。その歴史は室町時代まで遡り、茶道文化とともに発展してきました。ただ修復するのではなく、傷跡を金で美しく際立たせることで、器はむしろ以前よりも価値を増し、唯一無二の作品へと生まれ変わります。
「無縫」という名前には、金継ぎによって生まれる完璧な調和への想いが込められています。壊れた部分と元の器が違和感なく溶け合い、シームレスな美しさを実現する。それは、不完全さを否定せず、むしろそれを受け入れて美に昇華させる、日本古来の美意識「侘び寂び」の精神そのものです。
